spatial_gp(scale_coords = TRUE) (and the HSGP and multi-scale constructors) centre and scale the coordinates before the field is built, so the fitted field lives in those units. gp_scale_coords() scales the training coordinates and returns the centre and scale it used; gp_scale_new_coords() puts prediction coordinates, which arrive raw, in the same units. A fit made without scaling leaves them unchanged.

Usage

gp_scale_coords(coords, scale_coords)

gp_scale_new_coords(gp, coords)

Arguments

coords

Matrix of coordinates.

scale_coords

Logical; scale the training coordinates.

gp

A validated spatial object carrying coord_center and coord_scale.

Value

gp_scale_coords(): a list with coords, center and scale (NULL when unscaled). gp_scale_new_coords(): coords in the fit's own units.
